Noel's 'violent intimidation'

Noel Gallagher on stage at Heaton Park
NOEL Gallagher released a full statement yesterday on the website Oasisinet.com following his decision to leave the band.

Here is the entire message - headlined "Tales from the Middle of Nowhere":

"Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning.

"As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock'n'roll pop group Oasis.

"The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.

"I would like firstly to offer my apologies to them kids in Paris who'd paid money and waited all day to see us only to be let down AGAIN by the band. Apologies are probably not enough, I know, but I'm afraid it's all I've got.

"While I'm on the subject, I'd like to say to the good people of V Festival that experienced the same thing. Again, I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it.

"In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories.

"Now, if you'll excuse me I have a family and a football team to indulge.

"I'll see you somewhere down the road. It's been a ******' pleasure.

"Thanks very much.

"Goodbye.

"NG."

The Gallaghers' mother, Peggy, told the Sunday Mirror she was hopeful her sons would patch up their rift.

She said: “They do love each other, but they've always been very different. The funny thing is, they didn't fight as children. They didn't fight until they started the band.

“I hope this isn't the end of Oasis. I don't think it is. They're just tired at the end of the tour. They've had fights before and got over it.”

Let's hope the following happens:
-He recharges the batteries.
-He releases a good solo album.
-The billionaire that has taken over City suddenly goes bust.

All joking aside it's a shame this has happened. Oasis have obviously not reproduced the quality on show on Definitely Maybe and What's The Story but they have released a load of really good material and they (as a band) will be missed.
I'm genuinely excited about Noel going it alone, he's obviously the brains behind it all and I think Liam is a bit of an ass anyway.

Good luck lad..

I´m not an Oasis fan, but from what I´ve observed, Noel is the driving force and the talent behind their success. I would like to hear his solo material. Liam however is a putz, all wind and water. I doubt
he´ll go onto anything other than well-deserved obscurity.

Liams brain is stook in the late 80's and he needs to grow up and become a man the muppet.

Hands of Stone, Southside

Agreed. He wouldn't last five minutes giving it all that in Salford. I know 12 year olds that would knock him clean out!

Total Burnage numpties who sold Manchester down the river as soon as they became popular....just like the Beatles did with Liverpool....play the top geezer Mancs on the back of proper Manc outfits like the Roses and Mondays then jib off to London....not a decent song since they emigrated to London !!!!!! Good Riddance ...........................................................................

So happy those two idiots have called it a day. Oasis will never be as good as The Stone Roses, best Manchester band ever and also Reds.
