THERE was a right royal engagement for Rochdale starlet Anna Friel at the weekend when she bumped into Prince Charles.

The former Brookside actress turned Hollywood star was introduced to HRH at the Cartier International Polo Day.

She was at the starry event at Windsor Great Park in Egham, with her partner, Harry Potter actor David Thewlis.

The actress drew admiring glances in this black mini-dress, but The Diary couldn't help noticing she's looking slimmer than ever.

Anna, who last week dazzled on our screens in gritty BBC drama The Street, has spoken in the past of the pressures of being thin in the showbiz world, saying: "I wouldn't like to be totally scrawny."
