Fans queued for up to eight and a half hours in the Arndale Centre to meet the 31-year-old - real name Katie Price.
Jordan - who was in the city to sign her book, Sapphire - has been at the centre of a media storm since splitting from her husband, Peter Andre, two months ago.
But there no sign that her popularity was on the wane, with an estimated 600 people turning up to greet the star at Waterstones.
The first fan to arrive was Rachael Gore, 25, a primary school teacher from Wigan. She arrived at 8.45am for the 5.30pm signing - and dragged along her brother Marc, 32, and his son Jordan, 11.
"I came to a signing with her a year ago today in Wigan, so I wanted to get here early to get to the front," said Rachael. She's beautiful and really down to earth. She's still got us as fans."
Marc said he gave Katie his business card and a rose.
"That's my first rose of the day," she said to him.
The crowd was predominantly female, mainly in their teens and early 20s.
Jordan was late arriving, but the crowd was still high spirited.
Friends Heidi Brocklehurst, 18, Vicky Saunders, 19, and Lisa Smith 19, arrived from Rawtenstall at around noon.
Heidi, who works for a shoe company, said: "I just love her, she's dead open and honest."
The crowds erupted into a cheer when the star attraction arrived just before 6pm, wearing a turquoise diamond-encrusted body with tutu and diamante crown.
A chant of `Katie, Katie' went up - followed by another of `Pricey, Pricey'.
The model smiled and waved before she started her signing.
And she said: "It just goes to prove not everyone believes what they read."
Charlotte Katie James, 18, had travelled from Leeds and thought Jordan was `just great'.
"She's just single and having fun," she added.
Craig Capp, 17, arrived at 11am from Scunthorpe.
He said: "I absolutely love her. I came to reassure her she has still got fans."
Adele Bradley, 37, and Emma Mansell, 34, from Kent, said they were fans of Katie in their younger days and had passed on their passion to their daughters Emma Bradley, nine, and Laila Moghimi, eight.
Emma said: "Jordan's hard working and a good mother."
Sapphire is a novel about a young woman who runs a lingerie and hen-weekend business. Her life looks set to fall apart when things go wrong at a party held for one of her friends - who is also one of the nation's favourite celebrities.

If I was a fan of a band I can watch them play, listen to their music, an actor I could watch in a film or on stage, an author I could read their novels, a sportsman wath him play, but what is a 'fan' of in this case.
Very sad really that these types are idolised by a certain type of person in this country. It says a lot about this country.

God help our kids if school teachers are fans of talentless,self-obsessed muppets like Price.

How time have changed. Two fathers to her children is it, failed relationships. I am not sure that I would like to see pictures of my mother behaving like Jordan. Her only riposte is 'I make lots of money' wlll so what? What about a bit of dignity?
I knew a lad from schoold who made a lot of money. He ran brothels. Not a good way to earn a living but as he said 'I make a lot of money for my family'. That's alright then?

I have seen her interviewed and it is all I am hard headed, nobody messes with me, I am tough etc and so aggressive.
I was at a seminar once and one of Scotland's leading businesswomen gave a talk. It was supposed to be about motivation but it was the same 'Nobody messes with me, I have no sentiment, I will crush anybody who gets in my way, I am ruthless, I am your worst nightmare etc. You see it on The Apprentice too.
In business I have met very pleasant people who get on with everybody but can be as ruthless as anybody and they have made millions upon milliosn, but today we have, especially with women, this 'don't mess me with in business' attitude.
I interviewed some new trainees last week and when asking simply 'why should we hire you' virtually all answered 'because I am ruthless, I don't take prisoners, nobody gets in my way, I don't suffer fools, I am no nonsense, I win at a costs'. This attitude doesn't actually get you far in business. Know you enemeies, amke friends etc.
There used to be a book called 'how to win friends and influence people' These days it would be 'how to make enemies and fall out with everybody you meet'.

Jordan has far too much fake tand and those ridiculous bit's of silicone. Most men prefer natural. How can you saw somebody's chest is attractive if it isn't actaully theris but implants? Men can have silicone bicep implants but I would feel such a fraud with them. Jordan makes money out of false bodingers and it is the same as me having false biceps and false pecs and entering body building competitions.
These days money is king and true happiness rare. Plenty of people these dayys when asked what their ambition is it is 'to be famous'. What for though? Surely if you are talented and follow it through as a creer then that will bring you fame. These days being famous, but not for anything in particular, seems to be the goal. A goal without substance, but vacous.
In my time I aspired to be a good person and live happily and do well for myself, which I have achieved. Why would I long to be on page 14 of Chat magazine talking about my love rat cheat or similar.
Very sad.

My real names is Charlie. When I go out tonight I might get sloshed, try and have my wicked way with a pretty lady and when my wife asks me about it I will tell her it was David. Do you think I can get away with this? She does and people buy into it.
Maybe if I drive like a lunatic and get stopped by the police I will tell them that it wasn't me Charlie, but David suddenly reappeared. Do you think that I would get away with it or would I be sectioned?
This is how crazy it is. My niece a few weeks back saw Jordan/Katie's behaviour and said 'that isn't Katie, that is Jordan, Katie wouldn't do that'. It is the same person - aargh!! I couldn't believe that she was having this argument with me. I thought she had grown out of that when she was treated about her imaginery friend Layla!
