The actor - who plays Corrie's knicker factory worker Sean Tully - joined the children on the Variety Club Flight of Dreams.
During the hour-long flights the children were entertained by Thomas Cook airline staff with Christmas carols, drawing competitions and loads of other fun and games before Santa Claus made a special appearance after landing his sleigh on the plane and magically appearing inside the aircraft.
And when the plane finally landed by at Manchester the children got to meet Santa inside his own airport grotto, each one leaving with a variety box of chocolates.
"Some of the children have been through so much but, to see all their smiling faces at the end of the day can be really uplifting," said variety Club spokesman Norman Kaphan.
