WATCH out WAGs - I hear feisty American songstress Anastacia has plans to be queen of the Manchester football scene.

Back with a new single and album after a few years in the pop wilderness, the Chicago-born singer has spent that time discovering a love for all things footie- related, after getting hitched to her English-born bodyguard Wayne Newton, developing a particular fondness for her hubbie's team of choice - Manchester United.

"Are you kidding me? I'm dying to get to Manchester - I'm hoping to stop there on tour sometime next year," she tells The Diary.

"I reckon I'm not a WAG, I'm a MUW - a Manchester United Wife. I'm a big fan now. Usually I would just pick the team with the nicest outfit. But red is a great colour, it looks great on me."
