Heart-throbs Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter were dispatched up to us in Manchester, while band-mates Harry Judd and Tom Fletcher headed to a signing in Kent.
Although when The Diary caught up with them at Zavvi , the cheeky pair came up with another reason for the absence.
"We got hungry so we ate them on the way," chuckled Dougie.
Bolton-raised Danny was loving being back in Manchester though - as it meant a catch up with family and friends.
He said: "It's always nice to come back home, and I'm meeting my sister to go for a drink in town tonight."
The lads signed copies of their new single Lies at the event - which saw a massive crowd of 1,000 fans queuing out of the Arndale Centre store all the way down to Exchange Square just to meet their heroes.
