STUART Pilkington is the ninth housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house.

The 25-year-old personal trainer and property developer from Cheshire was voted out of the house, losing to fellow nominated housemate Rachel Rice.

As results were revealed in the live eviction show, housemates fell silent for a moment before Stuart jumped up to hug fellow housemates.

"That was a long pause," he said, commenting on the time it took host Davina McCall to announce his name.

He let out whoops of delight as he embraced other housemates and shouted: "I'm going home" and "this is it".

In the diary room earlier today Stuart said of his experience in the house: "It has been everything I thought and more.

"I think everyone in the house thinks I'm a nice guy when people didn't think that at first.

"I'm like a fungus, I grow on people."

He lost the vote to 25-year-old trainee teacher Rachel, from Torfaen, south Wales.

Rachel said to Mikey and Kathreya earlier: "I'm all right, I don't want to go, but I'm cool about it."
