But former plumber Tony, from Leigh, will be hoping the show will be worth the sacrifices he has had to make.
For the 27-year-old tells me the pressures of living away in London for the tribute act series has caused him to split with his girlfriend.
Tony, who bears an uncanny resemblance to former Take That star Robbie, sighs: "This has lost me my relationship.
"She's a doctor and has had medical exams and I've been on the show so we've both not been able to make each other our main focus.
"So we've put things on hold. When I get home, I might be able to work things out. But it's meant a lonely Valentine's Day for me this week."
Still, Tony is keeping his eye on the prize - for the winner of the singing show will jet off to Las Vegas for a three-month contract with a professional tribute show.
Tony says: "I'm honestly not expecting to win, but if I did it would be amazing to go to Vegas for three months and work, it would be a great opportunity to show them Britain's best."
Recording
But the irony of his success, when the real Robbie has reportedly 'gone on strike' from recording music, is not lost on Tony.
He tells me: "He's growing his beard and he's supposedly on strike, so I think it's kind of weird that he's not working and yet I'm working as him. But that's the tribute world for you."
Tony has also gained the support of Robbie fans - and his main hope from his TV experience is that he will now be considered the top Robbie tribute act in the UK.
He'll compete against fellow lookalikes and soundalikes for Cher, Frank Sinatra, Dusty Springfield and Lionel Richie tomorrow - singing the Robbie classics Millennium and Supreme.
And he's hoping the northern vote will mobilise behind him.
He says: "The football team I play for, Leigh Athletic, are having a big party and showing the final on the big screen at the club and everyone has said they'll vote.
"I hope everyone in the north will be there on redial for me."
If Tony does win the show, he will win the three-month Vegas contract - but won't jet out to take part until September.
Straight after the final Tony will instead be heading off on a sunshine cruise around the Caribbean - working a couple of days aboard the ship - but then having a well- earned break.
