Stockport star James Wright is back at Belle Vue - where many fans feel he belongs!

The One51 Aces have completed their team for 2009 by agreeing a deal to bring the 22-year-old back to Kirkmanshulme Lane after spending this season at Swindon.

Wright rode for the club on loan from Workington from 2005-2007 and it seemed certain he would begin his full-time Elite League career by following his grandfather, Jim Yacoby into the Belle Vue team.

However, a failure to agree terms saw him join Swindon instead in a move which disappointed many supporters.

Preliminary talks last week with bosses David Gordon and Chris Morton were followed by contract negotiations when an agreement was struck.

Gordon told M.E.N. Sport: "It would be fair to say we had some issues to discuss after what happened 12 months ago.

"We needed to be clear about his speedway ambitions and also needed to be sure he really wants to ride for Belle Vue.

"We feel sure he can do a good job for us. He certainly fits the vision we have been pursuing since taking over the club of having a team of young, improving riders.

"He has got the right gear and reckons he can achieve a seven-point average for us although we would be delighted with six. There is no doubt he is a better rider for his season at Swindon."
