The Swede, already battling against a hand injury, was hit by bike problems which forced him to borrow machinery from team-mates.
Lindback, signed by the Aces two months ago, managed only four points as his side lost to champions Peterborough more conclusively than the score suggests.
They had only two of the 15 heat winners, in skipper Joe Screen and Billy Forsberg, in front of another good crowd.
The Aces took maximum points from those two races but it was purely damage limitation in terms of the overall result.
Aces' promoter Chris Morton said: "Antonio had either carburettor or electrical problems which was so frustrating.
"We will have to sort it out in time for Wednesday's match at Poole.
"He was feeling frustrated because he felt he was ready to get stuck in after his injury.
"Simon Stead also had bike problems and while these things are not really acceptable, they do happen in speedway.
Improvement
"But they stopped us having a real run at Peterborough."
Morton added: "The shining light for us was Billy Forsberg getting in a full home meeting on his own bike.
"He continued the improvement he has shown since joining us and it was good to see him win his last race."
The points were shared in the first two heats, Peterborough supplying the winners, while home riders took the minor placings.
But Forsberg, who has enlisted the help of ex-Belle Vue star Jason Lyons to look after his bikes, was impressive as he chased Danny King all the way to the line in the second race.
The Aces stormed ahead in the third when Screen and Kevin Doolan took full points to open up a four point lead.
The points were shared for the third time in the fourth heat, notable for former Ace Kenneth Bjerre, not famous for his passing, taking Stead on the outside.
The margin was cut to two points in the fifth when Screen followed Hans Andersen home with Doolan a disappointing last and looking down at an off key motor.
The visitors raced ahead in the next when Bjerre and King took maximum points while Lindback's misery continued when a sick motor forced him to pull up.
Lindback came out for his next race on Stead's bike and looked much more competitive, overtaking Piotr Swiderski but he still had to settle for second place to make it 33-27 to Peterborough after 10 races and they ensured victory with full points from the next.
BELLE VUE: J Screen 12, K Doolan 5, S Stead 5, B Forsberg 5, A Skornicki 5, A Lindback 4, J Wright 4.
PETERBOROUGH: H Andersen 18, K Bjerre 16, L Dryml 9, D King 6, P Swiderski 3, R Hall 0.

The sooner this season is over the better. Let's just hope we have proper speedway to look forward to still next year.
