Screen was the only Ace to give the home stars a real run for their money in an Elite League match at Peterborough, where Belle Vue have won just once in 20 visits.
He won his double points-scoring tactical ride in heat seven, with team-mate Kaj Laukkanen second as both Panthers - including former Ace Kenneth Bjerre - suffered mechanical problems.
But their 8-1 win was Belle Vue's only heat advantage as they slumped to their biggest-ever defeat at the East of England Showground, surpassing their 60-30 thrashing in 1999. Screen finished second in two of his other outings, and was pipped on the line in another by Lukas Dryml.
Reserve Adam Skornicki was the only other Belle Vue rider to win a race in a bizarre heat four.
Sun
It was stopped first time around, as Ace Kevin Doolan fell while in second place after being blinded on one of the bends by the setting sun.
The meeting was held up for 20 minutes while the sun dipped before Skornicki won the re-run. Hans Andersen - who scored a maximum in Peterborough's 13-point win at Belle Vue on Monday - was again unbeaten for the league champions, along with fellow Dane Niels-Kristian Iversen.
Peterborough piled in eight 5-1 maximums, with Belle Vue's No1 Simon Stead unable to get to grips with the pacy circuit.
James Wright also struggled for the Aces and failed to beat an opponent.
The Aces, sponsored by Channel M, have another league match at Oxford tonight.
PETERBOROUGH: N K Iversen 14+1, H Andersen 13+2, L Dryml 8+2, K Bjerre 7+2, P Swiderski 7+2, D King 7, R Hall 6.
BELLE VUE: J Screen 11, A Skornicki 8+1, S Stead 4, K Laukkanen 3+2, R Fisher 3, J Wright 1, K Doolan 1.
What is your verdict on the performance? Have your say.

We rode another match at Oxford on Friday...where's the report?
We were also due to ride at Wolves tonight...it's been rained off before you even printed anything saying it was on!!
What's happening to the MEN??
You've increased the cover price by 10 per cent, but are delivering nothing. very disappointing. And what a waste of having one of the sport's top journalists in Richard Frost when you're not using him.

It's a poor show from the Evening News to completely miss the Oxford meeting report and Wolverhampton preview.
What a waste of Richard Frost's talents.

We lost.....again.
Aces 5-1 can you point to one single post I've written that says I thought for one minute Crump was gonna ride for us this season? Take your time. My gripe was not that Crump, or Bjerre (although I think he behaved badly) left, but that they were not replaced.
True Ace, you say I speak unsubstantiated rubbish, well we are now bottom of the league, is that 'substantiated' enough for you. I claimed we are a rotten team, what more evidence do you require?
Incidentally can you tell me what these achievements have in common?
Elite League play off runners up.
Finishing top of Elite League
Elite League Pairs Champions
Elite League Pairs Runners Up
K.O.Cup Winners
That's right, they are all Belle Vue honours over the last two years that True Ace failed to notice.
What a True Ace you are!
Mr Ace (30/05/2007 at 10:42)
Your infamous accross the net for your negativity which i for one think this is really sad that true Aces fans wont post on here because you come back at everyone with your views which only you seem to agree on.
Roger in the Holme Valley (30/05/2007 at 13:35)
I have to repeat stuff because one or two are a bit slow on the uptake. For instance Aces 5-1 keeps suggesting that I thought Crump woud be in an Aces jacket this season, despite me saying to the contrary on numerous occasions. Because I'm a helpful guy though, I've told him again, it's not my fault if he doesn't get it very quickly.
By the way I think you'll find that my views are not misrepresentative of Belle Vue fans, there are other posters on is site who are less than thrilled, but you don't tell fibs about them do you? There are PLENTY of disenchanted people at the track, probably the majority I think it's fair to say.
I've managed to talk myself into believing we might get something tonight, but looking at their team it will be tough. PK and Billy aren't quite the same force they were I suppose, and they ain't done too much away from hom, so hope springs eternal. We'll need Steady to get back to some sort of form and the rest to perform at the best of their limied abilties. Doolan and Wright have done very well but are expected to do more than they should have to. Screen has often been fighting a lone battle but has been reliable, the rest of them need to pull their fingers out.
Mr Ace, if you want to reply, that's fine, but please just once, try and stick to the truth!
I Thank You.
