MACCLESFIELD Town has further cemented its commitment to the local community by opening up its state-of-the art Information Resources Suite to the general public.
'Best in the region'
The luxury computer room, overlooking the Moss Rose pitch in the fabulously appointed Alfred McAlpine Stand, has 20 multi-media workstations, which
chairman, CEO and secretary Colin Garlick proclaims: "Are not only the best in the town, I would imagine they are the best in the region."
The club has formed a ground-breaking partnership with Macclesfield College of Further Education to make the Moss Rose a centre of excellence.
Garlick explained: "The college will be offering core time tutoring from 9am to 5pm every weekday, with fully qualified ICT tutors on hand to give in-depth training from beginner to expert level. But if you just want to come in and surf the net, play computer games, buy a holiday on-line and or do your weekly shopping, from the supermarket, then that's fine and dandy too.
"Anyone can drop in at any time and receive the level of specialist training they need on whatever packages or applications. I myself have just taken advantage of this service by completing my European Computer Driving Licence which I can say has already helped my working life.
"We believe many more people will want to come here than to other training establishments. It's a more familiar atmosphere, more friendly and less intimidating and if you are a Macc fan you have got the added benefit of being somewhere that is familiar."
The scheme has been funded by Government North-West , the Football Foundation and The Moss Rose Community Centre.
