DISC jockey James Murphy, who sent reigning Manchester Golfer of the Year Mike Hollingworth spinning out of the first round of the Allinace Matchplay Championship, faces a tough battle in the next against title-holder Peter Barber.
The Cheshire county player from Shrigley Hall, the only amateur to reach the last eight, must meet the experienced former European Tour man Barber on his own patch at Didsbury.
It's a tall order, but victory would represent a remarkable double because Barber defeated Denton pro Hollinworth in last year's final.
It would also line him up for a possible semi-final showdown against his Shrigley pro Tony Stevens, who first must overcome Prestwich assistant Mark Pearson.
Northenden's James Curtis takes on Haigh Hall assistant Alan Crompton and long-serving Ringway pro entertains Bramhall's Richard Green.
In the assistants' championship, pick of the second round is the clash between Denton's David Green and Lymm's Anthony Millar.
