ENGLAND'S Laura Davies is to become the first woman to play on the European tour - in just two weeks' time.

The 40-year-old has accepted an invitation to appear in the ANZ Championship at the Horizons Club near Sydney on February 12-15.

Paul Casey is the defending champion and the field also includes the likes of Ian Woosnam, Sandy Lyle and Paul Lawrie - all major winners.

"This is a new challenge for me and something I think I will absolutely enjoy," said Davies.
