CHESTER Jets lost 81-80 to Newcastle Eagles who moved up to fifth place in the British Basketball League Championship.

Billy Singleton had an opportunity to force overtime for the home side but made only one of his two free throws with 1.6 seconds remaining.

Milton Keynes Lions earned a 106-84 victory over Birmingham Bullets to move into seventh place. Lions had six players score double figures after they took control of the game in the opening quarter.
