BELLE VUE will ask Jason Lyons to put his World Cup nightmare behind him when he resumes Aces' action in tonight's Elite League match against Wolverhampton.
Lyons failed to score from five starts when favourites Australia were pipped by Sweden in their bid to retain the title in Denmark.
He was out of sorts on a deeply rutted surface and was left with his confidence severely shaken.
Aces' boss John Perrin said: "We need Jason to get straight back to form after his disappointment."The track in Denmark was poor but it was the same for everyone. It's difficult to make Jason out because he was fine in Australia's first round match at the beginning of the week.
"We need him to perform well tonight because we have looked a much better all-round side since bringing in Joe Screen, and it would be good to have a winning run."
The Aces will be without Craig Watson, who is required by his parent club, Newport, and Perrin is checking the availability of riders before deciding who will come in at reserve.
Wolverhampton will include mercurial young Dane Keneth Bjerre as a guest at No 3 on the strength of two brilliant performances at Belle Vue this season.
Meanwhile, Perrin is facing a battle of his own to get the Kirkmanshulme Lane track fit for racing after the ravages of a weekend stock car meeting.
Belle Vue's match at Ipswich on Thursday has been postponed until September 4. Rained-off matches at home to Stoke in the British League Cup and away to Oxford in the league have not yet been rearranged.
BELLE VUE: J Screen, C Stonehewer, J Lyons, S Johnston, J Crump, N Collins, guest.
WOLVERHAMPTON: M Max, S Ermolenko, K Bjerre, A Skornicki, P Karlsson, C Neath, S Stead.
