DEREK Brownbill, one of Warrington Town's most successful managers, has been put in joint charge of the North West Counties League club with Glenn Walker following the resignation of Alan Blair.

Brownbill, sacked in 1995, has been a coach at the club since 2000 while Walker, formerly at St Helens, has been running local club Crosfields with great success.

Club spokesman Colin Sargent said: "It's tremendous to have Derek back in management with his wealth of experience and should form a great team with Glenn.

"We will be looking to recruit more local players." Tweet
