Bolton snubbed by youngster

SWEDISH youngster Duong Tach has dealt a blow to Bolton by signing a new contract with club side Gefle.

The 16-year-old had been attracting interest from Bolton and Premiership rivals Middlesbrough, but has decided to continue his footballing education at home.

He revealed that he would rather play first team football than settle for a place in the reserves away from home.

The youngster has signed a two-year contract extension, telling planetfootball.com: ""I want to finish school and additionally, it feels good to develop at home playing first-team football for GIF, rather than for a youth side, even if it is in England."

However he will keep in contact with both Premiership clubs, saying: "Middlesbrough have promised to keep closely in touch and want me to return for another visit in March. Additionally, Bolton want me to come over for practice in January."
