TOP Polish youngster Tomasz Jedrzejak has become Belle Vue’s third signing in a week.

Busy promoter John Perrin has followed the shock acquisitions of World No 2 Jason Crump and experienced Dane Brian Karger by agreeing a deal with Jedrzejak, who is being widely tipped for stardom.

And Perrin is close to sealing a new contract with ‘Mr Belle Vue,’ Aussie Jason Lyons, who has just completed his testimonial season after joining the Aces in 1992.

Jedrzejak came to the Aces midway through last season and made a big impression on Perrin, both from a riding point of view and the way he settled into the Kirkmanshulme Lane set-up.

Perrin’s determination to keep him was boosted by the glowing reports he’d received from people like Lyons who had seen him racing back home on the big circuits in Poland.

'Impressed'

He said: ‘‘I have been very impressed with Tomasz and have been told that he’s been terrific at home. He scored some good points for us, although most of them were on away tracks.

‘‘He has still got to learn how to master our track as he has some problems with it being tight compared with what he’s used to at home. But there’s no doubt that he was improving at the end of the season and he’s getting there.’’

Jedrzejak said: ‘‘I don’t think I had a bad first season here and I really wanted to come back.’’

Perrin also revealed that he was thrilled to have secured the services of former Grand Prix rider Karger after missing out on him last season.

He added: ‘‘I moved in for Brian early because he was too committed elsewhere last year and I didn’t want to miss him again.

‘‘He’s a good rider and good to work with. We did a deal quickly and he’ll be with us all year. I think he’ll be a major asset for us now that clubs are only allowed on Grand Prix rider each.’’

New boy Crump and Lyons will attend a public meeting at the track next Wednesday (November 28) when they will take questions from fans (8pm).

Season tickets will also be on sale for the first time at £225 for adults, £130 for senior citizens and 50 for juniors.
