GARY Cowan has been bombarded by fans this week following his impassioned plea.
The Storm boss pleaded with supporters to stop moaning and get out and support the team in their hour of need.
''Judging by the response I've had, there are a lot of Storm fans out there,'' said Cowan. ''A lot of people were offended by what I said but a lot of people also agreed with me.
''I am passionate about this club. I care about Manchester Storm. I care about the future of ice hockey in Manchester and I am prepared to stand up and say it.''
Many fans are asking for a player clear-out to lift the team off the bottom of the Superleague. (Tomorrow they host the London Knights at 5pm). Others are concerned that the team could be re-locating to Blackburn.
''First and foremost I can say categorically that there is no chance of Manchester Storm ever moving to Blackburn,'' said Cowan. ''We have the best facility in Europe right here in Manchester - in fact the M.E.N. Arena was recently voted the best in the world.
''There's no quick fix in sport. Last season Kevin Brown was brought in to solve all our problems but only caused more and it ended up a total disaster.''
