Mick Warburton proved the master once again as Leigh Miners beat Wigan St Patricks 27-14 before a four-figure crown.
Mike swept into an 18-4 lead with tries from Mark Hudspith, Paul Redford, and Warburton, with Steve Flannery kicking three goals.
Although Shaun Boylan got St Patrick's back into the game with a try just after half-time, a superb movement after a 40-20 kick by the Wiganers failed to find touch, saw Miners tourist prop Richard Varkulis racing alongside winger Mark Sarsfield to take a pass and score.
Wigan St Jude's missed late chances and with them the chance to step over second-placed West Bowling in division one.
The Wiganers fell away to a 16-14 home defeat, West Bowling's vital try coming from Paul Chappell which Lee Innes goaled.
Lee Maiden and Craig Kay scored tries for St Jude's who had never been behind until that 70th minute try.
