STALYBRIDGE set records tumbling as they clocked up the win to lift the Bower Fold blues.

Their 2-0 victory at Forest Green hoisted them off the bottom of the Nationwide Conference and ended a 10-match winless sequence.

It arrived nearly four years to the day since Bridge's last Conference away win - at Hayes - and was their first clean-sheet on their travels in football's fifth division since March 1997.

Steve Pickford lashed them ahead with a 39th minute penalty. Leon Kelly snatched a second.

Michael Twiss's fifth goal in four starts launched Leigh to a 3-1 victory at Morecambe. Marcus Hallows bagged the other two.

Altrincham moved to second in the UniBond Premier as strikes by Kevin Hulme and Carl Furlong secured a 2-1 win over Barrow.

Steve Foster's hat-trick gave Hyde a 3-1 win at Bamber Bridge, to lift them off the bottom. And two Nigel Evans goals helped Droylsden beat Emley 3-2.

First division leaders Radcliffe crashed 4-1 at Kendal while Ashton United lost 2-1 in the FA Cup at Stocksbridge.
