ST Helens' bid to claim a hat-trick of Grand Final victories has been boosted by the news that club captain Chris Joynt has agreed a new deal to keep him at Knowsley Road until at least 2004.

The 29-year-old Great Britain forward has been at the club since August 1992 and has played a major part in the Saints' amazing run of success.

''It is massive for me and it is good to get a few years security under your belt,'' said Joynt.
