THE Farmers Arms continued their end-of-season surge in the Manchester Evening News Premier Bowling League - and have not given up hope of pinching second spot.
The Northenden side piled in eight winners worth 15 points in this week's only game at Tottington. That puts them just three-and-a-half points behind third-placed Chadderton, and 17 points behind Garswood Hall - with a game in hand.
The Farmers have away games at Bolton Tigers and Turton, and also entertain the Nursery; Garswood are at home to Tottington and go to the Nursery; and Chadderton go to the Railway and are at home to Rylands.
Budenbergs are not officially champions yet, but - with a 15-point lead at games at the Lloyds and home to Bolton Tigers - they look certain to retain their title.
