MIKE Gregory says he may be forced to take Rugby Union's shilling if he can't land another job in Rugby League.
Gregory quit as Swinton Lions coach last week but is determined to stay in the sport.
The England under-18 Academy coach was among the people overlooked for the vacant post at Warrington.
And he told us: ''I'm looking towards Super League because I feel I have a lot to offer.
''However, there are only 12 Super League head coaches. But if it means going in to a club as an assistant, so be it.
''If nothing comes up though I might have to look towards Rugby Union because I have to put a crust on the table for my family.''
Tour Down Under
Gregory, who recently became a father for the second time, did his reputation no harm on the recent Academy trip to New Zealand and Australia.
His young charges won both Tests against the Kiwis and lost twice to the Aussies including a nail-biting first Test.
Gregory stepped down at Swinton after talks with chairman Malcolm White last week, but he is not bitter about the decision, saying: "We had a chat before I went to Australia and we met again when I got back. He felt he wanted someone with closer links to the amateur ranks and I can understand his thinking."
Quality time
Until he finds more permanent employment, Gregory is happy to spend some quality time with his wife and two children.
Young son Ben is only 10 weeks old and Gregory has missed half of that time while on tour.
He said: ''He's a different baby now to when I went.
''I've got a holiday coming up in a few weeks and after that hopefully I can get something sorted out. Otherwise I might I have to get myself a proper job."
