JASON Crump, Belle Vue's world champion, has broken his silence over his future and sensationally revealed it's highly likely he will ride with a different Elite League club in 2007.
He confirmed what Aces' fans have expected since the end of the season but, in a bizarre twist, the 31-year-old says he would like to remain a Belle Vue contracted rider and move on loan next season.
He has been linked with a move to Poole but his availability may have set alarm bells ringing at clubs like Arena-Essex and Oxford, both of whom had poor 2006 seasons and are now under new management.
Bristol-born Crump admitted: "There has been a lot of talk going on behind the scenes of which I am a third party. As far as I am aware it has all been conducted correctly between the club I am contracted to and another club and is all above board.
Affection
"What I would like to place on record is my affection for Belle Vue. It's a fabulous club steeped in history and with some of the most outstanding supporters in the sport.
"I have been fortunate enough to have ridden for Tony Mole at Belle Vue. The guy is an outstanding businessman and I wish him all the luck in the world with his new venture.
"I have had five wonderful seasons at the Manchester club and the greatest compliment I can pay is I don't want to leave.
"I am sure Belle Vue fans will appreciate I have spent the last five years doing everything I could to bring the team success. We won the Knock Out Cup in 2005 and reached the play-off final after topping the Elite League table.
"I have been as disappointed as every Belle Vue fan that the team hasn't been more successful. I have topped the league's averages throughout the period so I know I couldn't have done any more.
"I have thought long and hard and I genuinely believe I need a new focus in 2007. But that doesn't mean I want to sever my ties with the Aces. I need a time out from the club and then in 12 months I believe I will be in a better position to make an assessment."

If Crump really is "as disappointed as every Belle Vue fan" at the lack of success, I'd be more impressed with him if he declared his intention to stay and fight even harder for that success.
I never had him down as a quitter.
But it's the same in every sport; team members, managers, and owners come and go, but the supporters remain to pick up the pieces.
well,i think its as we all feared.but good luck to JC,he's never given anything but 100% for BV,he'll get a warm welcome from me on his return.
It comes as no suprise that Jason will be leaving Belle Vue.He has given his all for the Aces and we are grateful for that.Belle Vue will continue just as we did when Collins,Mauger,Morton,Fundin,Craven etc. left.Jason's replacement has some very large shoes to fill though, as he has been the best rider on the planet for three years now.Good luck Jason but please do not come back to haunt us!.
A fantastic ambassador for the sport and for Belle Vue the man has given everything for the aces.Everybody needs a change of scenery and he has been through some rough times with the aces in recent years. To say that he only wants to go out on loan shows alot of respect for the supporters who have followed him all over europe while enjoying some fantastic individual success never forgetting the aces fans he bumps into.Hopefully the new promotion can bring some league success and persuade him back in 2008.Good Luck Jason
Jason Crump has been magnificient for the Aces for the last 5 years, however no one is bigger than the club be it rider, supporter, manager or owner ,and when someone says they need a fresh challenge by leaving, especially a rider then let them go but only in a way that suits the club.A loan deal is not an option if another club wants Jason and he obviously wants to go,and i think the probable reason is money, then let that team also put up the money to take him on a full transfer,or give us the option of taking any of their riders in exchange.John Perrin did this 5 years ago,let whichever club that wants him do the same as i dont think we will see Jason back in Belle Vue colours so why should some other team have the best rider in the world on the cheap. If Poole or whoever want him make them pay up.
Iam not surprised jason has chosen to go at this time.He has given his all to try and win the league for the aces in the last few seasons. What belle vue need now is a team with his desire for sucess.
Iam very unhappy at the actions of Tony Mole who after taking over from perrin has turned his back on the club after only two seasons.
Why get involved if you are not going to complete the job of putting belle vue back to the club it was . We need a quick decision on the new owners to get some stability so that the fans and riders can prepare for the season ahead.
i am a big bv fan and i think it is wrong to leave us in the way he is doing he hasnt done all he can for the culd at all and when he cums back 2 bv i wont be claping him. yes he is a good rider and has done well but he can do alot more and after hearing this am not happy with him
It doesn't suprise me that jc is moving on but i think some of the things he's said are a joke. I will not like jc the way i used to, i expected loyalty from him but when it comes down to it he thinks about 1 person himself!! he never cared about bv half the time he didnt no the score!! hes a disgrace !!
it will be sad for Jason to go, but he must ride for who he chooses, speedway careers do not last forever and he has done a great deal for BV, also the help he gives in the pits are second to none. Good luck JC but come back to us in 2008.
I have met him a few times and he is always pleasant and gives you his time. Good luck to the new look BV for 2007.
My other half brought me to BV when I didn't even know who JC was, the first time I saw him race i got shivers down my spine and have been a supporter of both JC and BV since. I am absolutely gutted that he wont be there next season but purely for selfish reasons. Im sure his decision was not made without i great deal of thought, and I respect the man whatever, he's a true legend in my eyes and I wish him all the luck in the world:-)
I THINK THE REAL REASON JASON IS LEAVING IS HE HAS NEVER GOT THE BACK UP HE DESERVES APPART FROM SIMON STEAD HE HAS BEEN RIDING WITH A LOAD ASBEENS AND DEAD LEGS THE RESERVES SHOULD HAVE BEEN DUMPED A LONG TIME AGO BUILD A NEW TEAM AROUND SIMON STEAD OR HE WILL BE NEXT FORGET ABOUT JOSON CRUMP
Gutted that JC is on his way out of Belle Vue. Hope its only for one season.
Thanks Jason for giving 100% for the Aces and becoming a legend.
we will miss our champion we want to wish him all the very best and thank him for the 5 years he has given his all to belle vue we as supporters will still support jason in his 2007 GPS and we wish him and his family all the very best hope he will come back to belle vue in the bvery near future good luck jason barbara cartner and family manchester
I agree with Thomas Atherton's comments regarding the Aces reserves. They have all underperformed this year and and have let the side down scoring 4 points and less between them on a number of occasions. AT KIRKY LANE TOO!! I will be very sorry to see Jason go as he has been the only rider scoring points on a consistant basis. Simon Stead looks the way forward for the Aces and I for one hope that the new management will support him by bringing in riders who can show the same commitment and will to WIN as he does. See you in 2007
I CANT BELEIVE MY EYES WHEN I READ EVERYBODY IS WISHING JASON CRUMP ALL THE BEST CANT YOU SEE HE IS RIDING OFF ON HIS BIKE AND STICKING TWO FINGERS UP AS HE GOES HE IS ONLY THINKING OF ONE PERSON THATS HIM SELF ITS CALLED (IM ALL RIGHT JACK SOD YOU LOT) AND JUST IN CASE IT DOESENT WORK OUT HE SAYS H'LL COME BACK.UNBELIEVABLE
Of course it is always sad when a rider of Jasons caliber leaves Belle Vue.No one was more gutted than me when Ivan mauger left Belle vue.But a new Star will soon riding for our beloved Belle Vue.It's unfair though. To blame other riders for his departure.
As a Belle Vue supporter I feel privileged to have been able to be part of the Jason Crump era and I think we should thank him for the last five years and what he has done for Belle Vue speedway. Its a pity he feels its time to move on and if he feels so strongly for the Aces which he says he does, why put everyone through the trauma of him leaving and trying to get a replacement?
although jason is going , i think its good for belle vue to regroup with some present and new riders and ride as a team
I'm Jason's No.1 fan and I have known him for a few years ... People that are saying that Jason is leaving now that its getting tough with Belle Vue are defintely wrong ..Jason has stuck with Belle Vue for the last five years and the team hasn't really been a bed of roses then... I think Jason is a avery loyal man when he is at a club and there is no need for people to slag him off. I know that he is a nice man and its obvious that he needs a new challenge and I of all people don't want him to go but if thats what he wants we can't really call him for it!
i hope that crumpy ends his career wit belle vue because i just love watching him ride every week and i love the style that he has on his bike and i know that he can win quite a few more world titles before he retires from speedway, i am hopefully going to be getting into speedway soon when i get a job and can join a training school. if you know any speedway training schools that are near Manchester then could you send me a e-mail please to blandy_2005@hotmail.co.uk
Good Luck Crumpy!. He deserves to be in a team who can back him up ,as much as I love the Aces, there has been no support from the team for him, no wonder he can't take another season!. The rest of the team need to take a good look at themselves and then they might understand his decision, he can't do it by himself. I will be supporting him in 2007 as he is an exceptional rider and is a joy to watch whoever he rides for.
i cant blame him he has carried the rest of the jokers for long enough lets get a good team that can also ride away from home
