But Ian Thomas, boss of the Fonestyle UK Aces, was equally pleased with the best all-round team effort of the season which promises much for the return tomorrow night.
The Aces go in search of the vital aggregate bonus point at Oxford with an 18-point advantage and Thomas said: "This was a really solid performance.
"There have been meetings this season when one or two riders haven't contributed very much but everybody chipped in this time."
The Aces were 8-4 down after two heats, Joe Screen having been brought to a halt in the first race, his motor seizing up when he was tucked in behind team-mate Kenneth Bjerre for full points.
But it was only a temporary setback as Crump got to work, well assisted by Simon Stead who won three of his five races despite being laid low by hay fever.
The Aces took maximum points from the third and fourth races to lead 14-10 and from there it was a damage limitation exercise by the visitors, whose main bright spot was the 13-point return by Czech reserve Lubos Tomicek.
Bjerre pulled off two good passes and Phil Morris got up on the line in heat seven to beat Freddie Eriksson and follow Crump home for another maximum.
BELLE VUE: J Crump 15, S Stead 12, K Bjerre 8, J Screen 7, J Wright 6, P Morris 5, T P Madsen 3.
OXFORD: L Tomicek 13, D Watt 10, T Wiltshire 6, E Andersson 4, A Skornicki 2, D Howe 2, F Eriksson 1.

Jason flying this season lets hope he keeps it up.With his help who knows we may win the league this season.Lets hope Kenny and the rest of the boys keep injury free.
Jason did very well to beat Greg Hancock in the final. It's going to be along battle for him in the gps this season but Jason is very determind to win back the title this year. I can't wait to go to Cardif and cheer him on. Good luck Jason!
Fantastic team effort last night to pull off a very convincing win. Crumpie was just awesome and Kenneth, Steady and Joe looked on form as well, with Jimmy, Phil and Tom putting the points in when it counted. Best account of a whole team working together I've seen in a while. Lets hope the lads can keep it up!!!!
Good team performance from the Aces. Lets hope we can go to Oxford get the bonus and maybe even sneak a win.
A solid performance from the team last night but it would be even better if we managed to win at Oxford on Wednesday. Yet to win an Away match in the league this season and now would be a good time to start.
As demonstrated on Monday, if all seven riders do what they are capable of doing, this team is a match for anyone. It may have "only been Oxford". but didn't we say that about Arena Essex too?
A point out of first place, everyone pulling their weight, the sky is the limit.
The same applies to the excellent coverage the Aces are getting from the MEN (which I used to deliver)which for someone across the world, is invaluable. Keep up the good work.
