The former Wigan and Great Britain loose forward, who stepped down as manager this week after five years in the post, claimed Britain were no nearer to beating Australia than they were 15 years ago.
Clarke called for a reduction in the number of Super League matches and for greater emphasis to be placed on the national side if Britain are to avoid more humiliation Down Under when the Aussies host the 2006 Tri-Nations Series.
