RL: BARLA preview

LEIGH East will hear the relegation trapdoor creak beneath them if they fail to win at second-placed Thornhill Trojans in the National Conference League Premier Division.

With three of their last four games away from home, Leigh face a huge task to make up the three-point gap between them and relegation rivals Siddal. It has not been a good first season for coach Mick Fishwick, whose job could be on the line.

East, who have had five years in the top flight, have had a better second half of the season but it might be too late.

At least they have a chance of survival, which is not the case for Eccles and Salford or Wigan St Jude's.

Wigan have no game tomorrow but Eccles and Salford will be officially relegated if they lose at Oldham St Anne's, where the home side are chasing a top-six play-off place.

Leaders Leigh Miners Rangers will be looking to avenge an early-season defeat when they entertain Hull Dockers, while Wigan St Patrick's can help keep East's hopes alive with a home win over Siddal.

WORLD club champions Bradford Bulls expect to go '300,000 deeper into debt this season, taking their total losses for the last four years to around '1.7million.

They made a loss of '594,000 in 2004, compared to '353,266 the previous year, but, new chief executive Gareth Davies said: "The vast majority of professional sport clubs have debt.

"Only three of the Guinness Premiership rugby union teams are thought to be in profit and 14 of the 20 Premiership football sides are in the red."
