Cricket: Lancs youngsters get England chance

THREE Lancashire players have been named in the England squad for cricket's Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Academy Seam bowler Andrew Miller (18) will join Scholarship duo batsman Steven Mullaney (19) from Leigh and 17-year-old Haslingden-based wicketkeeper John Simpson in the 14-strong squad for the two-week event which starts on February 5.

The trio will face Zimbabwe, Ireland and Nepal in their group, with the top two from each of the four groups progressing to the quarter-finals.

The England squad is managed by former Lancashire skipper John Abrahams.
