The 28-year-old all-rounder's wife Rachael is due to give birth in spring and Flintoff is planning to discuss the situation with the team management.
Flintoff said: "The baby is due on March 20 and that's something I'll have to speak to them about before any announcements or decisions are made."
Allowing Flintoff to leave the tour would disrupt the team's planning but the England and Wales Cricket Board now regularly accommodate requests for paternity leave.
Batsman Andrew Strauss recently missed the third Test against Pakistan and captain Michael Vaughan also left the tour before the one-day series, and could not return because of a knee injury. Tweet
