Murphy cannot see Anderson's depleted squad containing the Bulls.
"Playing Long and Albert would have been the biggest gamble in Saints history and they'll be missed," Murphy said. "Saints possibly blew their chance last week against Leeds when they were out-thought in basic rugby skills.
"I've had the same operation as Long and was out six months with a smashed cheekbone. I feel for Saints, but what's happened proves no side can play without their big guns.
"This must be the first time Bradford have ever started a game at Saints as favourites; it also shows that the Saints squad needs strengthening.
"I'd love to see Saints victory but I just can't see it because Bradford are playing well and have come good at the right time."
