Speedway: No complaint over fracas

BELLE Vue boss Ian Thomas will not be reporting the fracas with Coventry skipper Scott Nicholls to the sport's governing body.

The pair clashed during the Elite League play-off final which Coventry won at Kirkmanshulme Lane on Monday.

Thomas said: "As far as I'm concerned that's the end of it, but I did suggest to Nicholls that he pushes someone of his own age instead a guy of 63."

Is that it?

The MEN's feeble effort at reporting the League Championship play off?
No mention of the racing...no mention of the capacity crowd? the biggest crowd ever at the Greyhound stadium?

Shame on you Manchester Evening News!

It certainly felt like a big event and worthy of more column inches. Biggest crowd ever at the greyhound stadium? I think there was more at the opening night of Belle Vue's return to Kirky Lane which was rained off after one heat and most weeks the two stands used to be full by 7.15 and the grass bank on the second bend was always well inhabited.
