Belle Vue 59 Eastbourne 35
KENNETH Bjerre, Belle Vue's little Danish demon, ended a miserable run with a storming 15-point maximum at Kirkmanshulme Lane last night, writes Richard Frost.
He has written off three engines in eight expensive days but made amends and gave his bank balance a boost with his first full house of the season.
It was also the first time he had won all five races in a night for the Fonestyle UK Aces, although he landed a 12-point maximum last season.
Bjerre said: "I had my tuner fly over from Denmark with a new engine before the meeting and it went perfectly for me.
"I've had a very disappointing run, scoring only 10 points from my last two home meetings, but at least the team have been winning and, hopefully, I have now turned the corner."
The rampant Aces tacked the aggregate bonus point on to the two match points to extend their lead at the top of the Elite League to 15 points. Another point will ensure that second placed Poole can't catch them in the race for the end of the season play-offs.
Team boss Ian Thomas said: "The track was a bit damp and tricky at the start but it improved as it dried and we won easily. But you can only beat what is put in front of you and we did that."
The Aces, without Joe Screen who suffered torn shoulder muscles in a crash at Eastbourne on Saturday, took an instant grip on the match when Bjerre and Simon Stead took full points from the first heat.
It was a grip they never relaxed as they provided the winner of 12 of the 15 races to take a morale- boasting win over the team they could well meet in the knockout cup final.
BELLE VUE: K Bjerre 15, J Crump 11 + 1 bonus, A Smith 10 + 1, S Stead 9 + 4, J Lyons 8 + 2, R Harrison 4, J Wright 2
EASTBOURNE: N Pedersen 10, A Moore 7 + 1, D Barker 7, D Watt 5 + 1, D Norris 4, O Allen 2 + 1

Six meetings left this season now, and everyone a biggie.
Beat peterborough to ensure top spot
Home semi final in the play offs when none of our rivals are capable of beating us around Kirky Lane.
Then just the small matter of home and away meetings in the ko cup final and the play off final. I'm sure we'll get close at least but on the other hand we are capable of thrashing teams at home making the away leg an irrelevence as shown by this mauling of the Eagles
Come on Aces!
