Speedway: Vue's revenge mission

BELLE Vue are looking for their in-form 30-somethings, Joe Screen and Jason Lyons, to repeat their impressive home form in tonight's Elite League revenge bid at Arena Essex.

The Fonestyle UK Aces suffered their only home defeat of the season last month when the Essex side pulled off a shock one-point victory at Kirkmanshulme Lane.

Team boss Ian Thomas wants his side to make amends by winning tonight and adding the priceless aggregate bonus point.

Britain's Screen and Aussie Lyons, who could meet in next month's World Cup, have formed a powerful partnership at home.

They have won maximum points in five of the last nine outings in which they have figured together.

Thomas said: "Our home form is good but we need to repeat it tonight and Coventry on Friday before having two home matches against Oxford and Wolverhampton next week.

"Screen and Lyons are flying at the moment. I was especially pleased with Jason in Monday's meeting against Ipswich because he was still sore after his heavy crash at Peterborough last week."

Krister Marsh will ride tonight in place of Rusty Harrison, who is needed by his Premier League club, Edinburgh.

BELLE VUE: K Bjerre, A Smith, J Screen, J Lyons, J Crump, K Marsh, S Stead.

I'm still amazed that we contrived to lose at home to Arena. This fixture though still offers an excellent chance of victory. We need a win at either Purfleet or Coventry on Friday, preferably both. It is essential that we finish in the top two to secure home advatage in the play offs as I really can't imagine that any other side is capable of beating us on our own patch.
Come on Aces!
