FRED Harrison, a Belle Vue speedway supporter since the famous Manchester club opened in 1928, has died after suffering a heart attack before a match at Kirkmanshulme Lane three weeks ago. He was 84.

He was born in Gorton across the road from the old Hyde Road stadium. He started to watch the Aces as a seven-year-old and set the remarkable record of following the team for 77 years.

His funeral service is at Norbury Parish Church, Stockport, this Friday. Tweet
