RACHEL Connor has been selected for the three-strong England team to play at the Scottish LGA St Leonard's U16 Open Championship at Strathtyrun on April 7 and 8.

The 14-year-old, whose father Brian is professional at Manchester Golf Club, plays off a four handicap and was the youngest winner of the JJB Sports M.E.N. Women's Championship at the age of 11.

Connor, a pupil at Our Lady's High School, Royton recently returned from warm weather coaching at the David Leabetter academy in America.
