Ex-Radcliffe ace Banim, making his Droylsden bow following his switch from Shrewsbury, had a hand in their opening goal, scored by Dave Cameron, saw a brilliant effort cleared off the line and then netted the clincher as Pace's men scored a 3-1 second-qualifying win at Ashington. Pace, who also expects to land Forest Green's ex-Chester striker Mark Beesley within the next 48 hours, beamed: "Considering Jody has hardly played this season, he was outstanding."
Droylsden's Tameside foes Ashton United, Hyde and Mossley, also landed four- figure winners' prizes - as did Altrincham. Marcus Hallows was the two-goal star of Alty's 4-1 home triumph over Farsley, stretching his scoring sequence to four successive games. Late strikes by Eddie Hussin and Colin Little - his ninth of the season - wrapped it up.
Ashton, who entertain Alty in the preliminary-round of the Nationwide Conference's new Carthium Cup tonight (7.45pm), struck twice in the last minute through sub Darren Royle and Pete Carty (pen) to squeeze through 3-1 at Maltby Main.
Hyde twice came from behind to win 3-2 at Atherton LR, Neil Tolson grabbing their late winner. But Mossley had fewer problems dispatching Whitby, Jordan Goodeve and Chris Downey scoring to give the Lilywhites a 2-0 win.
Paul Sykes' last-gasp equaliser salvaged Stalybridge a home replay against Barrow, the gangly midfielder striking to make it 3-3.
Radcliffe face a tricky replay at Shildon after being held 3-3 by their North East visitors, while Ramsbottom and Chorley both crashed out.
Gary Williams' 86th minute goal provided scant consolation for struggling Leigh as they slumped 4-1 at Gravesend in the Nationwide Conference. Tweet
