They were forced to call off the meeting as early as Tuesday afternoon because the state of the track meant there was no chance of getting it ready in time.
It was the cut-off date for the second round yesterday, but the Aces had been led to believe that, in view of their dreadful problems with the weather, they would be given extra time.
But when the Promoters' Association management committee put the matter to the vote, it was decided to eject the Aces.
Furious promoter John Perrin said: "There is so much I could say but I'm not saying anything at the moment. Words mean nothing in speedway."

I'm truly sorry, but it really is Mr. Perrins own fault. He knew the cut off dates and should have made provisions well before now. Belle Vue rode the 1st leg of the previous round way back in MArch / April, had he not been calling off meetings when there was no need (or indeed had 7 riders! - It's like a football team taking to the pitch with only 10 men) Belle Vue would not have been in this predicament now. The rules got him through against Coventry and have thrown him out against Swindon. The only consolation left is his 'walking away' at the end of the season, although knowing how Mr. Perrin changes his mind more often than the weather, I have my doubts about that.
i agree totally with peter
the aces need some new blood with new ideas
stand down mr perrin and let somebody attack it from a different angle
