Sport For Kids, from August 3-5, is a G-MEX/M.E.N. community initiative in association with Manchester City Council and supported by MCFC's City in the Community, Lancashire, and Manchester Magic Basketball.
Sport For Kids, with a choice of football, basketball or cricket, is a follow-on from an extremely successful basketball event at G-MEX last summer.
It proved so popular that G-MEX and the M.E.N. got together again with Manchester City Council and decided to include football and cricket this year.
G-MEX general manager, Dave Mallard said: "When we initially came up with the idea we were unsure just how popular the event would be.
"We were very pleasantly surprised at how well it went, and how much the youngsters enjoyed themselves so there was no question that we would do it again."
Expert coaches from Manchester City, Lancashire and Manchester Magic will be on hand over the three days.
MEN mMarketing sponsorship manager Steve Wharton, added: "Our association with Sport For Kids is an enjoyable one.
"It's great to see the support from the cricket, basketball and football clubs this year. I'm sure it's going to be a phenomenal event!"
The event is also supported by Manchester City Council whose principal leisure officer Eamonn O'Rourke is another great supporter of this project.
"On behalf of Manchester City Council I would like to commend G-MEX and the MEN on the Sport For Kids initiative," he said.
"Manchester has become synonymous with major sporting events since the success of the Commonwealth Games and it's great to see the advent of activities such as Sport For Kids which encourage young people in the community to participate actively in sport."
Admission to Sport For Kids costs just £1 per session (£2 for full day).
Each session lasts two hours with admittance on a first come, first served basis.
The sports sessions will be split over the day, morning sessions will be 10am-noon, with registration at 9am, and afternoon sessions will take part between 1.30pm- 3.30pm, with registration at 12.30pm.
Youngsters can come along and have the choice of taking part in just one session of the sport of their choice, or they can register for the day to do another sport in another session.
Anyone wishing to make a full day of it is recommended to bring a packed lunch.
All monies raised from the entrance fee will be donated back into the community.
The event is supported by The Big Lottery (Passport to Sport)
