MICHAEL Bentwood heads to Mondello Park in Ireland this weekend for the 5th meeting of the Green Flag British Touring Car Championship looking to banish the bad luck that dogged him last time out at Oulton Park.
The 26-year-old from Hale started the season well but has struggled to maintain that form due to technical problems and racing incidents, 'in the last two meetings at Oulton and Silverstone we didn't qualify well for one reason or another, and we we're unlucky not to recover in the races,' says Michael.
'We've got to a do a good job in qualifying," says Bentwood, "we've got to do whatever it takes to string a good lap together.'
With only 19-points Bentwood is in 12th place in the championship and needs to score points in all three Irish races if he is to make any ground in the standings, 'We've got to re-establish ourselves as front-runners,' says Michael.
'Whether that's a sixth-place finish or a podium it doesn't matter, we've got to be fighting with the front drivers and I've got to get some points.'
