ALTRINCHAM FC kick off another season in the top-flight of non-league football on Saturday when they travel to Woking.
After a successful pre-season, during which Altrincham won five out of six matches, there is optimism that the club won’t need a reprieve from relegation this season as they have for the last three campaigns.
Nine new faces joined Altrincham this summer, including Chris Denham and Dale Johnson, from Droylsden and Hyde, and wide men Lee Elam and Alex Meechan, from Exeter City and Stalybridge respectively.
The defence has been strengthened with Wrexham defender Mark McGregor, left-back Matt Doughty from Halifax and ex-Northwich and Vauxhall Motors keeper Andy Ralph.
Arrivals in midfield are Leek Town’s Anthony Danylyk and Stafford Rangers’ Kevin Street.
Altrincham’s first home game is against Barrow on Tuesday [12th], kick-off 7.45pm, with Kettering Town the visitors on Saturday, August 16 (kick-off 3pm).
