Having won the listed Cheshire Oaks on her seasonal re-appearance, Shadow Dancing has gone on to occupy minor places in both the Vodafone Oaks and Royal Ascot's Ribblesdale Stakes.
While she has had praise lavished on her for the doughty manner in which she has competed all year, her trainer feels that it is time for the daughter of Unfuwain to make another appearance in the winner's enclosure.
And having seen her bound exuberantly up the gallops in Lambourn during the past fortnight, Tregoning is bullish about Shadow Dancing's chances in the Lancashire Oaks.
"She has shown that she can compete at group level, now it's time to show that she can win in that company. I am expecting a big run," he said.
The next meeting at Haydock after tomorrow's action will be a week on Sunday, when the Manchester Evening News hosts its annual family Raceday.
And Tregoning revealed that he might be sending one of the promising colts he trains for Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum, Tholjanah, to contest the July Trophy at that meeting.
Coupons for the M.E.N race day, which will offer families the chance to gain entrance to Haydock Park at reduce rates, will be published every night next week.
