County linked with Wrexham striker

Stockport County have been linked with a move for Wrexham striker Craig Faulconbridge.

Faulconbridge, who is 24 on April 20 and can therefore leave the Welsh club at the end of the season on a Bosman, was left out of the Wrexham team that was relegated from the Second Division last weekend.

And while Palmer was full of praise for strikers Aaron Wilbraham and Luke Beckett after Saturday's win over Sheffield Wednesday, he might be keen to add Faulconbridge to his squad to increase competition for places.

The Nuneaton born striker has been on of the rare highlights in a poor season for the Robins - scoring 14 goals in a team that has struggled to hit the back of the net all season.

However, County are likely to face competition for his signature from Dario Gradi's Crewe Alexandra - another side destined for Division Two unless they somehow manage to rack a cricket score on the final day of the season.

Do County need more forwards and, if so, would Faulconbridge be a good signing? Have your say.
