Cox will be in the Slovenian champion''s corner tonight when the Aces tackle Ipswich in an Elite League match at Kirkmanshulme Lane (7.45).
Ferjan''s Belle Vue future is hanging on a thread after scoring only 10 points in the first four matches of the season.
A spokesman for the Ferjan camp said today: "We are all disappointed with his start to the season. He has been affected by one or two bike problems, and we have sorted out another engine which will go well round Belle Vue. But his problems seem to be more to do with losing concentration than with his bikes, so we''ve asked Marvyn Cox to help psyche him up.
"Marvyn has had a practice session with him already and will be in the pits at Belle Vue tonight."
Aces'' boss John Perrin said: "We have decided to give Matty another meeting. But if he doesn''t come up with the goods we will have to consider our options.
"We have made a major investment in our team for this season and we cannot afford to wait for riders to start scoring, especially as we have been getting good crowds. The racing has been good but we need to start sending them home with some good results."
The Aces will call in a guest at No 6 for Polish rider Tomasz Jedrzejak, who is the subject of an appeal to the Department of Employment over their rejection of his work permit application. Bolton youngster Lee Smethills will ride at No 7.
BELLE VUE: B Karger, M Ferjan, S Ermolenko, J Lyons, J Crump, Guest, L Smethills.
IPSWICH: C Louis, J Kylmakorpi, C Boyce, J Doncaster, D Bird, C Baldwin or J Smith.
