ANDREW Titterrell and Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe could make their long-awaited returns tonight as Sale Sharks look to get their Heineken Cup campaign back on track against Calvisano at Edgeley Park.

Titterrell has not played all season after undergoing surgery on his neck while Lobbe tore a muscle in his chest at the start of September. They both take their places on the bench as Sale look to make up for last Friday's shattering 17-16 defeat at Ospreys.

Director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre has made several changes to the side that slipped up at Swansea with a totally new-look back line.

Daniel Larrachea will start at full-back with Ben Foden replacing the injured Mark Cueto on the wing.

Steve Hanley starts on the opposite wing with Chris Mayor and Chris Bell linking up in the centre.

England star Charlie Hodgson, who this week signed a new four-year deal with the club, is at fly-half with Richard Wigglesworth at No.9.

The side will be captained by Jason White with Jason Robinson on the bench.

Contract

On-loan hooker Pierre Gaona makes his first start for Sale.

Saint-Andre, who also extended his contract for another three years this week, said: "Mark Cueto needs a little longer to recover from his ankle injury and Sebastien Bruno is having a well-deserved rest this weekend.

"I am, however, delighted that I can include Andy Titterrell and Ignacio after their injury problems."

The Frenchman added: "We are looking forward to getting back to winning ways after our disappointing display in south Wales last week.

"We must, however, respect Calvisano for the full game.

"We need to win and aim to get a bonus point too to kick-start our Heineken Cup campaign and set us up for the back-to-back games against Stade Francais in December."

The winners of each pool go through to the quarter-finals along with the two best-placed runners up.

In spite of last Friday's hugely disappointing defeat, Sharks did at least pick up a bonus point and will be keen to add another five points to that tally tonight against the Italians.

Bonus points could well be the difference between joy and disappointment at the end of the group stages.
