SALE tight head Stuart Turner has been picked for the England squad ahead of the autumn international series of games.
Southport-born Turner is one of six Sale Sharks players named in the 30 man squad for the games against New Zealand, Argentina and South Africa.
He will join team-mates Mark Cueto, Charlie Hodgson, Chris Jones, Magnus Lund and Andrew Sheridan in the England set-up.
His selection comes after consistently powerful performances for Sale and a couple of good tours with the England A side during the Churchill Cup.
He said: "I am in my sixth season at Sale Sharks and am enjoying my rugby as much as I have ever done.
"Winning the Guinness Premiership with Sale in May was very special, but this is just unbelievable. "I would like to place on record my thanks to everyone who has ever helped or coached me during my career."
However, should Turner get the nod for any of the internationals it could leave Sharks in bother.
They lost Lionel Faure with a broken leg earlier in the season, and to lose Sheridan and Turner would pile the pressure on Ben Evands and Barry Stewart as the remaining experienced props at the club.
