Sunday's clash at Headingley is shaping up to be arguably a season-defining game for both clubs.
Rock-bottom Leeds will be looking to build on their first league win of the season at Wasps to aid their fight for survival, while for seventh-placed Sale, a third domestic success of the season will propel them to mid-table safety.
By way of a dress rehearsal, the two sides met last Friday at Edgeley Park in a rain-lashed LV= Cup encounter where Seymour notched up his first try in Sale colours during an impressive 27-3 triumph.
But the former Saracens star believes the biggest boost for the club came in the all-action displays of fellow forwards Kristian Ormsby and Chris Jones, who both made welcome returns after long-term injury and who each put up convincing arguments for inclusion this weekend.
"It's definitely a big game for both sides and the really good thing for us is to have the likes of Chris and Kristian both back in action and available," said Seymour.
"To have those type of guys back with their huge ability and leadership skills is massive for the side and can only be a good thing for us.
"However, we know a completely different Leeds team will come out against us at Headingley compared to last Friday.
"It's a league game, which is all important, and we really need to start getting a few more wins under our belts."
Though the Anglo-Welsh Cup win will have little bearing on the outcome in Yorkshire, Seymour still insists Sale's all-action first-half display, which brought them four tries in less than half-an-hour, should fill the entire Sharks squad with confidence.
For starters, it proved that they can create openings and don't need to solely rely on the boot for points. Plus it also more than helped atone for a dispiriting loss at Newport Gwent Dragons the week before.
"The display at Newport was a massive disappointment for everyone in the squad. We didn't perform anywhere near as well as we should have done and the Leeds game was a chance for us to put things right," Seymour admitted.
"They were very tough conditions at Edgeley Park and the boys came through it really well, especially in the second half when we didn't concede a point even though there were three or four occasions when we had to defend on the line.
"Hopefully the win and the way we played can act as a massive step forward for us, starting on Sunday.
"However, it was only a first step forward for us and we need to improve on it again otherwise it will mean nothing.
"Going forward we did the simple things well, we managed to keep hold of the ball for phase after phase and a few chances opened up for us."
