SEDGLEY sewed up the National League Two championship in great style, hitting the half-century as they demolished Rugby.

But even a sparkling attacking display wasn't good enough for player-coach Tim Fourie, who gave his lads plenty of stick for conceding .

"It was our tremendous team spirit that carried us through, just as it has done all season," he said.

Surprisingly, given the scoreline, it took 25 minutes for Rugby's defence to crack, letting in Chris Glynn to cross at the corner.

Magic

Terry Rahuni produced a magic moment for Rugby, converting his own try to give his side the lead for the only time in the match.

Ian Voortman scored under the posts to put Park 15-7 ahead at the interval and, after Dave McCormack's try made it 22-7, they really turned on the style.

The backs and forwards combined in a flowing movement to put Voortman over for a second try before a 50 yard run from Paul Arnold made space for Glynn to cross for his second.

After Fourie got on the scoresheet to sew up the game, Rugby to their credit came back with a try from Phil Reed plus a penalty try when their winger was pushed when chasing the ball.

Park were not to be outdone and Arno de Jager capped a fine performance by racing through to score.
