For while Sharks forward Kristian Ormsby will now miss the sell-out Edgeley Park showdown after being hit with a one-week ban, colleague Rudi Keil has avoided suspension and is available for selection.
News of centre Keil's availability is a huge boost for director of rugby Philippe Saint -Andre, particularly as he lost the services of first-choice centre Lee Thomas earlier this week with a dislocated shoulder.
Ormsby and Keil were both cited for alleged incidents in Sale's magnificent opening Heineken Cup win at Clermont Auvergne last weekend.
Charge
Ormby was cited by match commissioner Achille Reali for alleged striking/dangerous charge on Clermont lock Julien Pierre. The panel decided that the New Zealander was not guilty of striking, but that he committed a dangerous charge on Pierre.
His ban runs up until next Wednesday, sidelining him from the Munster match-up though he does have the right of appeal.
Keil, a try-scoring substitute against Clermont, was cited for alleged striking/dangerous tackle on Benoit Baby in the same game.
The disciplinary panel ruled he was not guilty of striking but did commit a dangerous tackle. However, they found the offence did not warrant a red card - and therefore did not impose a period of suspension.
Will Sale beat Munster? Have your say.
